Butterfly Compass Mosaic Garden Bird Bath

Another new bird bath design for you. I had an idea to make a compass design, and I'd made a bird bath recently using the mini butterflies. It suddenly came to me that they could be fluttering in between the compass points. So the Butterfly Compass Bird Bath took shape.

I've used some plain colour and some iridescent tiles to make the butterflies with. The iridescent tiles add such interest to the mosaic with their shiny metallic colours. This bird bath is a great ornament for a garden, plus it's practical for the birds, plus it would be handy for a gardener if the compass points where set up to face their true directions it could be used to help place plants where they'll like it best, with more sun, more shade etc. What could be a better gift for a wildlife loving gardener?

Dragonflies & Daisy Mosaic Slate Garden Decoration

These slate paddlestone decorations are great for the garden because they can be left outside all year long. This one has three dragonflies flitting around a daisy flower. The dragonflies are all made with iridescent tiles to add interest with their metallic finish. You could use it as a decoration by a pond, or in a border, or as a feature ornament on a deck or patio.

Inspired by the colours of mosaic pools in Moroccan courtyards, with the deep blues, aquas, and greens this Morrocan Garden Bird Bath would be great to add colour in the garden and would look fab with some big leaved plants around it to create an exotic atmosphere.

Mosaic Bumblebee with Olive Frame

After the butterflies wall plaque that I created with an idea that it could be used in the garden or in the home, I've decided to add a few more home items to the range. I've had a couple of frames lying around waiting for me to do something with them for ages. I decided to put a bumblebee mosaic into the recess and I've hand painted the frame in a distressed muted olive green. Very pleased with the finished effect.

Rambling Rose and Seed Heads Bird Boxes

Rambling Rose Bird Box

These two bird boxes are hand painted with a distressed effect created by using layers of paint. They both have then been decorated with wire.

This first one has wire Rambling Roses that have been hand painted rose pink and the stems are painted copper. There are two heart shapes on either side of the box.

This second bird box is blue and white and has copper painted wire flower Seed Heads.

Sometimes when I design I get a look that's like ceramic, sometimes it's like fabric. This Blossom & Blue Butterflies bird bath definitely has the fabric look about it. The random pattern of white blossom flowers, 3 shades of blue butterflies, and apple, mint, and jade green leaves give a lovely cottage feel to the bird bath, yet the colours and style are contemporary enough to fit in any style of garden.

Cream Roses Mosaic Garden Bird Bath

This year I wanted to add to my flower bird bath range. Roses seemed the obvious ones to try next. I wanted to keep the palette quite light and airy as I think of roses in that kind of romantic, cottage, folk art, summery kind of way.

This pattern uses Cream Roses in a jade green circle, with darker jade leaves. Then the background and border is made up of a pale aqua which has a touch of summer sky about it. The end result has just the folk, shabby chic look I was after.

Spanish Garden Mosaic Bird Bath

This is the first addition to the website for 2014 -Spanish Garden. I had these lovely deep blue tiles and when I combined them with white they reminded me of the colour palette you see on Spanish ceramics. Particularly garden pots. The geometric design adds to the Spanish feel as it resembles the tiles floors. It's a great bird bath to add a bit of colour and atmosphere to the garden, while still being practical for the birds too.

Half designed as a bird bath, and half designed with summer dining in mind. While it is totally practical as a bird bath. This three fish design saucer could also be used on a garden table in the summer at a bbq to hold the condiments. Or it could be used on the table with water in and candles floating in it as a table decoration. Up to you.

Rose Garden Ripple Mosaic Garden Bird Bath

After making the Rose Garden Circles Bird Bath I decided I liked the Rose Garden palette so much I would extend it into the ripples range of bird baths. I think it looks like a rose garden reflecting in ripples of water. It's a lovely, soft, muted design that would look great in any style of garden.
