The recent hot weather has inspired me to create some plant pots that would add a hot, dry feel to a patio, deck, or interior room, even in winter. I hand painted terracotta pots with bands of colour including, blue, magenta, and ochre. I then edged some of the bands with black. Next I over-painted the bands with rustic Mexican Aztec inspired geometric patterns and symbols. Finally the paint was fixed with heat. This made the white paint turn slightly peach shade in places, especially the fish symbol band, which looks really great and creates instant age. These pots would look great with a cactus, or succulent in them. |
